Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation advocates for the creation of a lasting peace mechanism, including denuclearisation.

Russia has prepared and is ready to discuss with its partners a road map on North Korean denuclearisation and overall peace in the Korean Peninsula, said Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Igor Morgulov.

“We have developed and are ready to discuss with the partners – he explained – a series of practical measures, a kind of ‘road map’, the ultimate aim of which is the formation of a lasting peace mechanism in northeast Asia, addressing issues of the peninsula, including its denuclearization. “

The dialogue between the United States and North Korea is the main dispute resolution mechanism in the Korean peninsula, Morgulov said.

“We support a complete solution – he said – of all the problems of the Korean Peninsula – solely through peaceful means, through the unconditional dialogue of all parties involved, and above all between the main rivals: the United States and North Korea.”
