Poll: Russians name their friends and foes

Sociologists have found out which countries Russians consider to be hostile to the Russian Federation, and which are considered to be friends.
69% of respondents stated that the US is hostile to Russia (in 2015, this opinion was held by 73%), 50% ranked Ukraine as the enemy, 24% – Germany. Also 24% was given to Latvia, 21% to Lithuania – Poland 16% – Estonia 15% – UK 9% – Georgia 8%. France and Turkey were considered hostile by 8% of the respondents (six months ago, this was thought by 29%).

As for friends, Russian respondents ranked Belarus (46%), China (39%), Kazakhstan (34%), Syria (15%), India (14%), Armenia (12%), Cuba (11%), Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Azerbaijan (9%)
Every fifth respondent (21%) believes that in recent years relations between Russia and the United States are changing for the better.The opposite opinion is shared by 17% of respondents, and more than half (54%) see no change, according to the Levada-Center poll.
