Four gunmen have reportedly made an incursion into the premises of Iran’s parliament building and opened fire on security guards there.
According to Tasnim News Agency, at least two security guards were killed and 8 other people were left wounded in the shooting incident that is said to be still going on.
Tehran MP Elias Hazrati said the assailants had been armed with two Kalashnikovs and a handgun.
Security inside the parliament is reportedly under control, however, the counter-terror operation is still ongoing as one of the assailants has taken four people hostages and holed them up inside the building.
Around the same time, reports also came that 3 gunmen stormed the shrine of Imam Khomeini.
Several people were left wounded and one of gunmen was killed, another one injured, while the third one decided to blow himself up.
The bomber’s suicide belt has reportedly been found in the vicinity of the shrine.
