Two Jordanians were killed and an Israeli security guard was wounded as a result of a Sunday’s incident inside the building of the Israeli Embassy in the Jordanian capital city of Amman.

According to media reports, two Jordanian citizens, one of them being a 17 year-old, reportedly entered the building of the Israeli embassy in the Rabia quarter of Amman where 17-year old attacked an Israeli security guard, causing him slight injuries by using screwdriver, while also killing a Jordanian employee who was working at the embassy.

The attacker was shot dead right after.

The exact motives behind the incident are not yet known. Some sources mention a “guerrilla operation” (a thing that has been dismissed by Jordanian security officials since), while others speak about a quarrel that eventually escalated into a violent confrontation.

The scene has been sealed off.
