Reliable and allied partners, such as Russia, make Belarus’ independence more stable, President Alexander Lukashenko said in Minsk on Saturday at a solemn assembly dedicated to the Independence Day of Belarus.

“In the present world we cannot survive, Belarus is a supporter of the interstate integration processes, because we realize that reliable and allied partners make us stronger and make our true independence more stable”, said Lukashenko.

According to the president, bilateral relations between Belarus and Russia are mutually beneficial and cooperation covers all areas. Lukashenko also reported that on June 30 in Moscow at a meeting of the Supreme State Council almost all the issues between the Belarus and Russia that were on the agenda were resolved.

“It’s true: the relationship between us and our Russian brother isn’t always smooth, but whose is? However now, after the talks, for the first time in history, we are truly brothers as we have solved all the issues on the agenda” the Belarusian president said.

“After these incredible sanctions and pressure on all sides, we finally realize we can’t count on anyone but ourselves. Happiness to our people will only be possible through our joint efforts and nothing more”, added the president.

Lukashenko stressed that interaction with the People’s Republic of China is developing very rapidly. “It’s remarkable, we are happy about our relationship with this great empire”, said the president.

“There has been a serious progress in relations with the US and Europe”, Lukashenko added.

Lukashenko also stressed that in recent years Belarus’ contribution to security, peace and stability in Europe is increasingly recognized internationally.
