Poland may veto Ukraine’s possible accession into the European Union, if Kiev will continue to praise the cult of nationalist Stepan Bandera. This was said in an interview with wPolityce, by the Polish Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski.
“Economic cooperation with the Ukraine, unfortunately, does not look good. And worst of all, of course, are the historical issues. Our message is very clear – ‘Bandera’ will not enter Europe. We say this loudly. We will not repeat the mistakes of the 90s, when there were some problems in the relations between Germany and Lithuania. I am referring to the status of the Polish minority in these countries.”– Waszczykowski said.
According to him, Poland would insist that Ukraine settle all these questions before it will be allowed at the gates of Europe for their membership.
