Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Kairat Abdrakhmanov, confirmed on Monday that delegations of both, the Syrian government and the so-called “armed opposition”, will participate in the forthcoming round of Astana talks on settlement of the Syrian crisis, held between July 4th and 5th.

According to Abdrakhmanov, both sides officially announced their participation.

For his part, the UN’s special envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura, said the forthcoming rounds of talks on settlement of the Syrian crisis in Astana and Geneva, will finally determine which side holds the true desire to reach the peaceful solution, mainly by not skipping the crucial meetings and negotiations.

While addressing the UN Security Council, de Mistura said that significant progress has been achieved in Astana, adding there are high hopes for an even greater success at the forthcoming round of talks, with even more serious efforts being made this time.
