The commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC), General Mohammad Ali Jafari, said that if the United States continue with the provocative actions against Iran, the US Army will be forced to relocate its bases in the Middle East at least a thousand kilometers away from the Iranian border.

Tasnim news agency reports that during a conference of the leaders of the IRGC, held in the city of Mashhad, Jafari said that should the United States continue with imposing sanctions against IRGC, it will have to relocate its Middle Eastern military bases at least 1000 km away from the Iranian border.

He stressed that Iran has become a major regional and global power, first and foremost thanks to the spiritual ideals of the Islamic Revolution and the strength of the Iranian military, adding that the United States should start learning from own mistakes, otherwise the price to pay might be a bitter one.

Jafari noted the Iranian missile capabilities cannot be subjects of any negotiations.

He stressed that production of Iran’s air, sea and land missiles has only increased in the past few years, stressing that development of particular military capabilities is one of the principles of the Iranian state.

The statement came a day after the US Department of the Treasury and State both announced the imposition of new sanctions, this time targeting 18 Iranian business entities and individuals that Washington considers of being involved in and/or supporting the development of the Iranian missile program.
