Terrorists, stationed in the Damascene suburban area of Eastern Ghouta issued a statement on Sunday, saying none of them participated in signing a ceasefire agreement with the Syrian government or Russia.

The statement comes hours after Russian and Syrian authorities announced the beginning of cessation of hostilities in the areas of the Eastern Ghouta, located in the countryside of the Syrian capital city of Damascus.

The so-called “Syrian Observatory for Human Rights”, itself close to the jihadist groups, said Syrian warplanes carried out six raids on Sunday in Eastern Ghouta, adding that the raids were targeting jihadist positions in the nearby city of Douma, the town of Ein Tarma in the suburban area of Eastern Gouta, all of whom are (predominantly) under control of the so-called “armed opposition.”

Previously, The Syrian Army’s General Command announced a cessation of hostilities in the Damascene area of eastern Ghouta, beginning on Saturday.

“A cessation of hostilities will begin in the area of Eastern Ghouta, on Saturday July 22nd, starting at 12.00 a.m.”, Syrian Army’s General Command said in a statement.

The General Command of the Syrian Army and Armed Forces added that any breach will be dealt accordingly.

Previously, both Russian and Syrian authorities came up with ceasefire plan that would turn the suburban area of Eastern Ghouta into a demilitarized zone.
