August 12 , 2017 – Fort Russ News –
On the night of August 12 to 13, Donetsk citizens will be able to observe the Perseid’s meteor shower – one of the three largest star falls.
In order to see the starfall of Perseid, it is enough to find a place where there will be a good view of the sky, away from street lights.
Perseids are a meteor shower that appear annually in August from the Perseus constellation . It is formed as a result of the passage of the Earth through a plume of dust particles released by the comet Swift-Tuttle. The smallest particles, the size of a grain of sand, burn in the earth’s atmosphere, forming a “starry rain.” Its intensity gradually grows, reaches a peak and falls.
This occurrence is happening from July 17 to August 24, with the brightest show usually occurring on August 12. The number of meteors usually reaches 60 per hour. In 2017, increased activity is expected.
