Backed by the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), the Iraqi Armed Forces established control over the village of Qulu Bash, located east of Ayadiyeh in the countryside of Tal Afar.

According to reports in the Iraqi media, the joint coalition of the Iraqi forces imposed a military cordon around the center of the area on several axes, before storming it.

In a related context, the Iraqi forces launched a major-scale operation to hunt down the remaining ISIS terrorists who are still lurking in desert areas in western part of Anbar province.

The start of the operation was also confirmed by Major General Mahmoud Al Falahi who stressed that the operation began by inspecting the area of 160 kilometers between the city of Ramadi and the district of Altaabah, all the way to the north in a distance of 100 kilometers to Wadi Houran.

Although Iraqi forces liberated most of Anbar province from ISIS terrorists in late 2015, some desert areas in the west of the province remain under ISIS occupation, and are now also a home to ISIS terrorists who fled the recently liberated town of Tal Afar.
