Channel One journalist Anna Kurbatova reports that she is currently at a Russian post on the Russian-Ukrainian border.
Recall, earlier on Wednesday, August 30, it became known about the abduction of Kurbatova by unknown persons in the center of Kiev. The channel later reported that representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) might have detained the journalist.
SBU Press Secretary Yelena Gitlyanskaya said that the woman will be deported to Russia, and the adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Zoryan Shkiryak noted that she will be banned from entering Ukraine.
“I’m at the border now, I did not know where they were taking me, but I arrived here, on the spot, probably 15 minutes ago. They tell me that this place is called New Yurkovichi,” Kurbatova said, answering the question about her whereabouts during the telephone connection in the program “Time”.
The customs post at New Yurkovichi is located on the territory of the Bryansk region of Russia.
Kurbatova noted that she feels well, although she had a fever in the morning.
“They kept me on the border for a long time, in the cold. We just stood there and waited for something that was not clear, but now they’ve offered me tea and coffee here on the checkpoint, everything is fine,” she said.
She added that in the Security Service she received a document, which says that she “is a threat to the national security of Ukraine and its sovereignty.”
“But what they said in person is that all this is due to the fact that in the story about the Independence Day of Ukraine, what was happening in Donbass was called a civil war, and not Russian aggression,” the journalist summed up.
