Syrian Army advances in Palmyra countryside

Units of the Syrian Arab Army have made new progress in the eastern countryside of Homs province.

According to military sources, Syrian Army continues to advance with its operations after carrying out successful raids against ISIS fortifications and positions in the eastern countryside of Homs, a thing which eventually allowed it take control of the village of Wahhabieh, located 5 km west of Manoukh.

The sources pointed out that the operations resulted in annihilation of a whole gathering of ISIS terrorists, as well as destruction of large quantities of weapons, equipment and ammunition.

This come after Syrian Army took control of the strategic area of Jebel Al Dakhik which extends over 8 km in length and is located 5 km east of the the town of Sukhneh, the former ISIS stronghold in Palmyra countryside, back on August 24th.
