A former Free Syrian Army fighter has been arrested in Turkey for the murder of two women that occurred last week.

Ahmad Barakat was arrested in the Turkish city of Bursa for the murder of Syrian opposition activist and his aunty Oroubeh Barakat and her daughter Hala.

Ahmad Barakat was a former fighter in Wadi Barada before fleeing to Turkey after militants were evacuated from the settlement in a deal with the Syrian government.

Although arrested in Bursa, he was then transferred to Istanbul to be questioned by police on the grounds of having connections to Syrian intelligence.
