An Israeli officer and a soldier were killed today while conducting military exercises in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.

According to the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation, the accident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning when a self-propelled gun flipped over during a training exercise, claiming the life of an officer and a soldier, while leaving four other soldiers injured.

Two of the injured are said to be in a critical condition.

The authorities said Israeli Defense Forces have decided to stop using such guns in the night hours and during bad visibility until further notice.
