Currently, nine Ukrainian battalions are compatible with NATO standard, said the chief of the General Staff of the Supreme Armed Forces of Ukraine, Viktor Muzhenko.

“The preparation of battalions is continuing with the help of foreign specialists, which began in 2015. Today in Ukraine there are instructors and military personnel from the United States, Canada, Britain, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland. And we have to date achieved the appropriate compatibility at least in nine battalions.”

– he said.

“In addition, NATO standards are taken as a basis, which adapt to our conditions, taking into account the experience we have gained in conducting military operations. By the way, servicemen of NATO countries are already making changes and adjustments to their standards,  taking our experience into account. That is, we do not just blindly copy, but take a creative approach to working out the relevant applicable methods for us based on combat experience.”
