President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko did not rule out that he is initiating a referendum on accession to the EU and NATO.

“Polls show that most Ukrainian citizens support joining the EU and joining NATO, and I do not exclude that at the appropriate time I will initiate a relevant referendum to demonstrate the will of the Ukrainian people to all, and to our friends, and the aggressive neighbor, and all Ukrainian politicians ” – said Poroshenko.

Petro Poroshenko asserts that “a non-aligned status is not a guarantee of Ukraine’s security.”

“No less important than membership in the EU for all of us is membership in NATO. Russian aggression demonstrated the complete bankruptcy of the myth of non-alignment. Tell me, where are the apologists now, who, while sitting in this room, assured us that it was the non-bloc status that is the guarantee of Ukraine’s security? We were assured that we are safe, only not to anger Russia. What was the price paid for it? Russia has attacked non-aligned Ukraine, occupied our territory. “

“The main thing is that Russia killed more than 10,000 Ukrainians. And those who assured us that fig leaves are the best defense, where are they? Found shelter in Moscow and the Moscow region and in other cities. ” – said the Ukrainian president in a speech at the Verkhovna Rada.
