Although the Syrian Army has continuously made raids on the opposite of the river to battle ISIS, it has not made a permanent foothold.
This spells trouble for the terrorist groups as both the Syrian Army and the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces are conducting operations against ISIS on this side of the river.
