Units of the Syrian Army have liberated the strategically important Industrial District in Deir Ez Zour city after breaking through ISIS defense lines, following a day-long battle with ISIS terrorists.
According to the field reports, the entire district was liberated.
Led by the 4th Mechanized Division and Tiger Forces (the elite special forces unit), the Syrian Army launched an assault to fully liberate the embattled area yesterday already.
However, the assault got temporarily halted the at night in order to allow Syrian Army’s attack choppers to bomb the ISIS positions in the district.
Majority of the areas in the industrial district were under occupation of the terrorist group ISIS for at least 2 years.
The Army has also assumed control of the village of Tabiya Al Jazeerah on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River.
