Communist Party leader, Gennady Zyuganov, said that he was ashamed of the country, after the statements of one of the candidates for the presidency of Russia.
“One madam from “Dom-2″, in her position as a candidate, is talking all kinds of nonsense and I feel ashamed for the country,” Zyuganov said at a news conference.
Ksenia Sobchak, the former presenter of the TV project “Dom-2”, has in October announced her plans to participate in the election, stating that Crimea is Ukrainian, and that she supports sanctions against Russia.
“Dom -2” is a reality TV programme, where contestants build a house and try to find a partner at the same time. They then compete for the house.
While “democracy” provides for equal opportunity of all to run for the country’s presidency – Sobchak is not legally old enough to do so. It is most likely a PR campaign for herself, and opportunities to appear on the likes of CNN to discredit the Russian government.
