GROZNY, Russia – Head of Russia’s North Caucasian republic of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, said on Sunday that its time to change the republic’s leader.
“In a manner of speaking, this is my dream [to leave the post]. To be the head of a region and to bear responsibility for the people, for the republic, before God and the country’s leadership, before the people – it is very difficult,” he said in an interview with the Deistvuyushchiye Litsa (Political Actors) program on the Rossiya-1 television channel.
“I wouldn’t say I am tired or I don’t want to work any longer. People like me were once needed to fight, to establish order. Now we have order, prosperity. I think it is time to made changes in the Chechen republic,” he said.
He then said that “there are several persons who can 100% do this job perfectly.”
