The former Prime Minister of Ukraine, Mykola Azarov, has called the statements of Ukrainian leader Petro Poroshenko “pre-election delirium”.

Earlier, the president of Ukraine said that the country will create “four alliances” with the EU; customs, energy, a single digital market and an association with the Schengen zone.

According to Azarov, a second term is important for Poroshenko and since the impoverished Ukrainian population has nothing to hope for, Poroshenko promises European integration.

However, Ukraine can not unite its energy systems with the EU, and to assert the opposite is ignorance and stupidity. The customs union has similarly responded; the European Commissioner Johannes Khan said that the EU does not intend to revise the association agreement.
