Putin and Macron are in accord: the Iran deal stays

Russian and French Presidents Vladimir Putin and Emmanuel Macron have ruled it inadmissible to revisit the agreement with Iran over its nuclear program.

It is important to maintain the agreement reached with Tehran on its nuclear program, the Russian and French presidents said Thursday. 

Presidents Vladimir Putin and Emmanuel Macron conferred by telephone. According to the Kremlin press service, the discussion was held on the initiative of Mr Macron.

The two heads of state also discussed the situation in Syria and the results of the recent international meeting on the Syrian crisis, which took place in Astana, Kazakhstan, on 30 and 31 October.
