Putin – Assad meeting: British newspaper feels left out of victory in Syria

The Russian embassy in the UK has commented on an article titled “Putin claims victory in Syria as his own”, published in The Times.

British journalists wrote about a “secret meeting” of Vladimir Putin and Bashar Assad in Sochi, at which the Syrian president was introduced to Russian generals who “played a key role in saving Syria.” 

The Russian embassy they advised the authors “not to be jealous” and that Britain could have join Russia on the right side of history. 

President Vladimir Putin at a recent meeting in Sochi with Syrian President Bashar Assad announced the imminent end of the military operation in Syria. Assad, in turn, thanked the Russian military for the salvation of the country. “We will not forget this,” the Syrian president said.
