MOSCOW, Russia – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday following talks with his Japanese counterpart Taro Kono that Japan and Russia are wanting to book trade and economic ties.
“In accordance with the instructions of the Russian President and Japanese Prime Minister, we expressed our mutual interest in increase trade, economic and investment cooperation, as its volumes have recently decreased,” he said.
Lavrov revealed that his talks with his Japanese counterpart “were carried out in a constructive manner and were very detailed.”
“Our priority issues were implementation of the agreements reached by the leaders of our countries,” the Minister said.
