DEIR EZZOR, Syria – Russian and Syrian deminers have complete;y c;eared the city of Deir Ezzor from mines laid by ISIS, the head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Warring Parties, Sergei Kuralenko, said on Tuesday.

Almost 45,000 explosives were removed safely.
He said Russian and Syrian specialists “have examined 1,238 hectares of land in the city and adjacent areas as well as 246 kilometers of roads, finding and destroying 44,783 explosives”.
Russian deminers have led efforts to remove explosives laid by terrorist groups after a city has been cleared, with efforts most significant in Aleppo and Palmyra.
