“On November 25, 2017 six Tu-22M3 long-range bombers delivered air strikes at facilities of the ISIS terrorist group in northeastern Syria,” the ministry said.

According to the ministry, “taking off from an airfield in Russia, the planes hit strongholds and hardware of terrorists near the populated locality of Alishar.”

The bombers had destroyed all the designated targets, “which was confirmed by special monitoring equipment,” the Defense Ministry said.

The Su-30SM and Su-35S fighter jets based at the Khmeimim air base in Syria provided backing for the bombers in Syria’s airspace.
