The actions of the Supreme Armed Forces in the Donbas are justified, because it is a “fair defensive war”, and calling of Ukrainian soldiers “killers” is allegedly inappropriate. This was announced by the  Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, His Beatitude Svyatoslav (Shevchuk).

The head of the UGCC said that “the church makes a distinction between a defensive war and an aggressive war.”

“When one people tries to enslave other nations, such a war is inherently unfair. Any act in the name of such a war is immoral.” – he said.

He also emphasized that “every nation has a natural right to protection.”

“Today, the Ukrainian people are waging a just defensive war. Our soldiers sacrifice their lives, their health, and shed their blood for their homeland. They are those who stop the aggressor. This defense war justifies those necessary elements for protection. We did not attack. We do not want murder to reign on our land. Our soldiers in such circumstances are those who restrain evil and are the builders of the world.”
