RAQQA, Syria – A Raqqa resident, Ibrahim Ismaeel Akoush, recounted the ordeal of his home being destroyed by shelling in the Hanano district of Raqqa on Thursday.
Akoush spoke about how the incident led to his son going missing, local families being buried under rubble and how he fought against orders to leave his family home.
He then went onto say that “I will not leave” his home ever.
Raqqa was captured by Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces from ISIS terrorists some months back.
In the process of its capture, US-led airstrikes completely decimated the city rendering most of its destroyed.
