HUDEYDAH, Yemen – The Saudi-led blockade of the Houthi-held port of Hudaydah was still enforced on Thursday, despite Saudi Arabia’s assurance to lift the blockade.
President of the Red Sea Ports Corporation, Mohammed Abu Bakr Ishaq, believes that current conditions may “lead to a real disaster if this closure continues.”
He added that there is “no truth” to claims that ports have been re-opened.
The Saudi-led coalition has denied aid access to Houthi-held ports, like Hudaydah, until the UN sets up a tighter system to control any flow of arms into the country.
The UN has reportedly dismissed the condition.
