The head of the Republic of Crimea. Sergei Aksenov. supported the idea of building a wall in the north of the peninsula, on the border with Ukraine. An obstacle with a length of 50 kilometers on the Russian-Ukrainian border is necessary to ensure the safety of the inhabitants of the peninsula and tourists.

According to Aksenov, erecting an obstacle is not an unusual idea, since saboteurs are constantly trying to infiltrate the peninsula. And such attempts will continue, while in Ukraine “Americans control the situation.”

The works will be completed in the spring of 2018.
