For the first time in the history of the Russian Armed Forces, three missile warning systems have been put on combat duty all at once. The “Voronezh” missile defense system was created to the latest technology, assures the Ministry of Defense. They are now operating in the Orenburg region, Altai and Krasnodar regions.
Russia’s entire network consists of seven such stations, which provide continuous monitoring of all possible danger areas for missile attacks. The other four stations were launched earlier and operate in Irkutsk, Kaliningrad, Leningrad and Krasnodar regions.
One more station is planned in the Crimea by 2019.
