Russian and British foreign ministers Sergey Lavrov and Boris Johnson demonstrated a friendliness in Moscow today, which is hard to believe after all accusations against Russia from the British side.
“Let me say that I am a convinced Russophile. I have ancestors in America, Germany and, of course, here in Moscow. I am convinced that I am the first foreign minister of Great Britain, whose name is Boris. Please do not doubt: I want to improve relations between our peoples, “Johnson said.
He noted that despite the sanctions, the trade turnover between the two countries increased, Britain’s exports to Russia amounted to 5 million pounds.
“In response to insulting accusations against Russia from London, we never broke into a counter aggression, but called for considering the facts. As for trust, I trust Boris so much that I’m ready to call him Boriska,” Lavrov said. (which is less formal of ‘Boris’ but is sarcasm)
