The contract to supply the Russian anti-aircraft missile systems S-400 is due to be signed in the near future, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin stated,
The largest Indian news agency PTI quoted Viktor Kladov, director of international cooperation at Rostek State Corporation (manufacturer.) He said that “the agreement is at a very high level and technical details are being discussed.”
The representative of the company also specified that there is as yet no exact number of complexes that India will acquire, so there is no final price. It will take another two years to train specialists capable of handling the technology.
S-400 “Triumph” is the most modern missile defense system of Russia. It is capable of destroying almost any aircraft: from drones to ballistic missiles of small and medium range. A missile from the S-400 can reach its target at a distance of up to 400 kilometers.
