“We urge NATO representatives to look for joint approaches to driving out the drug trafficking business and terrorism funded by it from Afghan soil,” the minister said.

Since the US occupation of Afghanistan since 2001, the country has been plagued with a high volume of poppy production which in turn can be used to make opium and heroin.

It is now the leading producer of the poppy plant in the world.
