British Foreign Minister Boris Johnson arrived in Moscow on an official visit. He and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed the situation in the world and exchanged jokes about how much they trust each other.

This is the first visit of the head of the British Foreign Ministry to Russia over the past five and a half years.

At the meeting, Johnson acknowledged that there are “complex issues” between the countries, but the parties are eager to cooperate.

In addition, he called himself “a convinced Russophile” and stated that he was interested in improving relations with Russia.

“I want to tell you that this testifies to my confidence – as soon as I arrived here, I immediately gave my coat, everything that I had in my pockets, to Sergei Lavrov, and my gloves, everything. I knew that he would look after them and nothing bad will happen, “- said Johnson.

In response, Lavrov joked that there was nothing in Johnson’s coat pockets. [having checked]
