CHISINAU, Moldova – Moldovan President Igor Dodon will push to restore full-scale relations with Russia he twittered it on Wednesday after a meeting with Russian Ambassador Farit Mukhametshin.

“We stated our mutual concern over the worsening of diplomatic relations as a result of actions undertaken by the parliamentary majority this year in order to sow discord between our countries and to break off all relations with Russia,” Dodon wrote.

“I am sure there is a possibility to refrain from complicating relations between our countries further and to change over to full-fledged cooperation,” he continued.

Elements of the Moldovan political establishment are pushing for the worsening of relations with Russia, something that Dodon is trying to avoid.
