German Foreign Minister Zigmar Gabriel has supported the initiative of the head of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) Martin Schultz on the creation of the United States of Europe by 2025.
Last Thursday Schultz called for deepening European integration and by 2025 to form the United States of Europe. The politician will present to the EU members an agreement for ratification. Those countries that do not agree with this document, in his opinion, should withdraw from the association.
German FM approved the idea, stressing that its implementation will allow Europe to better “represent the interests of citizens” in the world. “This is really necessary,” he said.
