The Kiev District Court refused to satisfy the request of the prosecutor’s office to order round-the-clock house arrest for Saakashvili.
After the court session, Saakashvili went outside to his supporters, who rallied together. The politician led a column of people to the Kyiv city state administration, paralyzing the traffic.
Saakashvili got up on a car platform and recited a speech.
The protesters moved on to the Verkhovna Rada, chanting “Impeachment!”
Saakashvili was detained on December 5 for assisting participants of criminal organizations and concealing their activities. While in court, the politician announced that he was on a hunger strike and would remain so indefinitely if he was imprisoned.
