TARTOUS, Syria – The Special Mission Forces (SMF) of the Syrian Interior Ministry, an elite unit of the Syrian Army, posted photos on their social media on Monday of soldiers who graduated on weekend after training for several weeks in Tartous.

The new graduates completed several courses that focused on counter-terrorism and urban warfare.
The SMF are under the direct command of the Interior Ministry, putting them in a unique position as they can carry out special operations.
