The Russian and Chinese military will indeed closely monitor what is happening not only in Pyeongchang, but also on the entire Korean Peninsula, where, in addition to the Olympics, the United States is conducting the largest military exercises to date, together with South Korea. The purpose of the exercise is openly called “exerting pressure on North Korea with the use of superior military force.”

Even today, the Americans and the Japanese have concentrated a large grouping of forces in the area, where the DPRK has promised to “give in if they climb.”

Remembering the 2008 Olympics, when under the guise of the Games and not without the blessing of the United States, the then Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili attacked South Ossetia. The Chinese and Russian military have decided to prepare for the Olympics, so that the nobody may have the desire act while the world is distracted.

The annual exercises “Foal Eagle” will be held simultaneously (from February to April) as “Key Resolve”. According to the South Korean agency “Ryongap”, the exercises of the US Air Force and the Republic of Korea, “Vigilant Ace”, will also be held from December 4 to December 8, 2017, with six multipurpose F-22 Raptor fighters. They will be transferred from a base on a Japanese island of Okinawa. Furthermore, they will be joined by four F-35 Lightning fighter-bombers. As the agency notes, it is for the first time the US deploys such a group of ultramodern airplanes in the south of the peninsula. The purpose of the demonstration of force is, according to Ryongap, “putting pressure on North Korea with the use of superior military force.”

The United States is actively using military exercises as a means of pressure on North Korea, experts say. On November 11-14, joint US-South Korean naval maneuvers took place off the coast of the DPRK. From the American side, three aircraft carrier groups with nuclear carriers “Nimitz”, “Theodore Roosevelt” and “Ronald Reagan” took part. Now an aircraft carrier group led by “Ronald Reagan” is taking part in joint American-Japanese exercises near the shores of Okinawa.

The other two groups are also adjacent to North Korea, providing an unprecedented concentration of power in this location. In 2016, about 10 thousand American and 300 thousand South Korean soldiers and officers were involved in these maneuvers, last year there were more of them, but the Pentagon refused to give the exact figure, and this year they are expected to be even greater.

“Against the background of the worsening security situation around our country due to the ongoing nuclear tests and missile launches of North Korea, the exercises are aimed at increasing coordination with the US and South Korean naval forces and strengthening relations between our countries,” Japan said.

For its part, the DPRK said that a bunch of warships, aircraft, tanks and soldiers at their borders, with the development of plans for their capture, does not in any way contribute to the peace process on the peninsula. The DPRK published an official press statement that the military exercises of the United States and South Korea are a provocation. And the deployment of US aircraft carriers with ballistic missiles shows “who is the real fanatic of nuclear war.” The DPRK calls the United States “a nuclear demon that destroys peace throughout the world and on the Korean peninsula” and argues that peace throughout the world now depends only on the DPRK, which balances US forces.

South Korea did ask to postpone the exercises for the duration of the Olympics. However, the Pentagon has not yet responded, and it is unlikely that the plans have been approved, as the money has been allocated, the ships have been sent, and no one is going to make a different decision, reports RNA.

The Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China are conducting a command post exercise on missile defense, during which cooperation will be worked out to jointly reflect missile threats from “third countries”. This is reported by the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The report says that, “in accordance with the decision of the heads of defense departments of Russia and China, the second Russian-Chinese command and staff exercise on missile defense, “Air and Space Security-2017”, is being conducted at the Air Defense and Missile Defense Research Institute of the Air Force Academy of the People’s Liberation Army “.

If we translate this into ordinary human language, the Chinese stated that they will strictly follow the aim of air defense for all participants in these competitions and are quite ready to shoot down missiles or planes of American or Korean provocateurs.

In a related article, the American magazine The National Interest, wrote: “The Russians and the Chinese are unhappy that America dominates the so-called rules on which the international order is based. Both countries have their ambitions, which Washington opposes – thus, even if Moscow and Beijing do not agree on all issues, on the whole they can cooperate where their interests coincide. “

So why do our American colleagues decide that Russia and China are preparing against them, specifically? To the contrary – it was said – the defenses are prepared in general against any third party regardless of the flag.

Thus, Russia, one way or another, will participate in the Olympic Games under the national flag. True, not directly, but through the S-400. The preservation of peace on the planet is irrespective of medals in a biathlon.
