Russia, Iran to discuss further cooperation, the situation in Syria and the nuclear issue

MOSCOW, Russia – Senior Russian MP Leonid Slutsky has claimed that Russian and Iranian officials are planning to discuss further cooperation between their respective countries, the Syrian crisis and Iran’s nuclear ambition on Tuesday.

“The meeting’s agenda includes issues of interparliamentary cooperation, developments in Syria in the context of combating the forces of international terrorism, mine clearing efforts and restoration of vital infrastructure in the Syrian Arab Republic, the Iranian nuclear dossier and our cooperation in nuclear field and also economy and investments,” said Slutsky, who chairs the Russian State Duma Committee for Foreign Affairs.

Iran and Russia both back the Syrian government in their struggle against terrorism and have spearheaded peace initiatives in the country.
