BEIJING, China – The “Aerospace Security – 2017” six-day military air defense drills conducted between Russia and China has started in Beijing today.
The Chinese Defense Ministry described the joint drills as bolstering cooperation between the two powers and balance forces in the Pacific Rim.
The main task of the exercise is to work out joint planning of combat operations when organizing air missile defenses, operation and mutual fire support, as well as responding to sporadic and incendiary ballistic and cruise missile strikes over the two countries’ territories, according to TASS.
These are the second of such drills between the two countries.
