RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil – 2017 was a winding year on the international scene.
If, on the one hand, the strategic-military power of globalism continues to be a gigantic tumor in the bosom of humanity, whose removal is becoming more urgent, on the other hand, humanity has continued to breathe relieved with some geopolitical defeats of unipolar Atlanticism – defeats that are, fundamentally, victories of the peoples and of the Multipolar World.
After more than 6 years of conflict, with the cooperation of Russian aviation, Hezbollah’s glorious warriors and a host of other regional political forces loyal to the Homeland, Assad has finally defeated terrorist, imperialist and Zionist attempts in Syria while maintaining the integrity of Arab Republic, removing ISIS from Syrian territory and undermining the Yankee fragmentation project in the region (unlike in Iraq and Libya).
At the other end of the world, even under the violent threats of Western countries, under open war declarations by hostile powers, the People’s Democratic Republic of Korea has never raised its nuclear deterrent potential so much. She has never been so fond of her own fate – to the chagrin of all those have dreams wet with the destruction of the fierce patriotic socialist nation.
All this to the extreme displeasure of the ruling caste that manages financial capitalism and aims to control the world militarily, economically and spiritually.
However, much remains to be done. Right now, in Yemen, the Houthis rebels continue to wage an intensive battle against the Saudi allied coalition. And even though the rebels have scored many victories over the course of this year, the situation remains drastic and delicate, especially for civilians.
Meanwhile, in Ukraine, after an intermittent period of freezing the conflict, the US and Canada once again provided lethal armaments and armored vehicles to Kiev – now a neoliberal government under a police state. And in parallel, in Lebanon and Palestine, the Zionist threat remains an immediate and concrete reality for the peoples who live and resist there.
Globalism, in all its manifestations, has global tentacles. Its aim is the TOTAL DESTRUCTION OF THE PEOPLES (their cultures, sovereignties, economies, ways of life, traditions). Thus, the triumph of Syria and Korea is the triumph of all peoples, it is the triumph of us Brazilians and Latin Americans, just as the struggle of the Yemenis, the Lebanese, the Palestinians, the people of the Donbass, drastically and dramatically, is also our struggle.
