IDLIB, Syria – The Syrian military has launched an air campaign against jihadist forces in the northwest province of Idlib.
However, instead of bombs, from military helicopters the Syria military dropped leaflets aimed towards civilians and jihadist forces.
The leaflets warned for foreign fighters operating in the jihadist-held Idlib province to return to their countries of origin or they will die in Syria. The leaflet then went onto call for civilians to begin uprising against the jihadist groups operating in the province.
This comes as days ago the Syrian Army, covered by artillery fire and the Russian and Syrian air forces, launched an operation to liberate the entirety of the province that was overrun by jihadist forces who mobilized in Turkey and launched an operation in early 2015.
The Syrian Army has made significant progress in the first phase of their operation and have liberated many towns and hilltops from Al-Qaeda aligned Al-Nusra Front terrorists.
The leaflets come as a truck full of jihadist was attacked while on their way to fight the Syrian Army. Full details can be read here.
