IDLIB, Syria – The elite Tiger Forces of the Syrian Army have smashed jihadist positions on the Hama-Idlib province axis and liberated three new towns.
The advancing government forces, covered by Russian and Syrian jets and artillery fire, liberated the towns of Mushrayifah, Dajaj and Tamat al-Kalifah and the the hilltop of Tal Mata’a.
This advancement is part of the first phase of liberating the jihadist-held Idlib province. As part of this phase, the main operation is to liberate the strategic town of Abu Dali.
Only yesterday Russia announced that its main Syria priority for 2018 is to completely defeat the Al-Qaeda linked Al-Nusra Front who control the majority of Idlib province.
Idlib province has been in jihadist hands since 2015 when a huge operation by terrorist forces who mobilized in Turkey launched a devastating attack taking the majority of the province, with the Shi’ite towns of Fua and Kefraya being the exceptions.
