IDLIB, Syria – A truck full of Al-Qaeda affiliated Al-Nusra Front has been destroyed by a roadside bomb as it passed east of Abu Dali town on the Hama-Idlib province axis.
The perpetrators remain unknown, but it would likely be undercover agents of the Syrian Army or a rival jihadist group also operating in Idlib province.
Two of the jihadists were killed instantly, another two critically injured and the remaining two lightly wounded.
It is known they were traveling to the front lines to engage the Syrian Army who are conducting an operation to liberate the entirety of the jihadist-held province.
The first phase of this operation was launched just days ago with the main aim to liberate the town of Abu Dali.
Earlier this week, Russia announced that its main 2018 Syria military goal was to entirely defeat the Al-Nusra Front who are mostly concentrated in Idlib province.
In response to this operation, the Syrian Army dropped leaflets from a helicopter warning foreign jihadist to go home. The full details of this can be read here.
