The European Commission will not allocate the last tranche of the loan to Ukraine from its Macro-Financial Assistance (MFA) program in the amount of 600 million euros. The European Commission said on Friday, December 1 in a statement.*
The EC noted that Ukraine had fulfilled a number of obligations in order to receive the third and fourth tranches, but not all needful measures were taken into account.
“Four measures related to the third and final tranche, are currently unclear. Against this background, the Commission is not in a position to disburse the last tranche of the current MFA programme. We encourage Ukraine to maintain the reform momentum in the many areas that have progressed well, and complete the measures outstanding under the current programme, with the support of all stakeholders,” the report said.
At the same time, the EU does not exclude the possibility of developing a new similar support program.
