HEBRON, Palestine – Clashes between Palestinians and Israeli security forces rocked the city of Hebron on Wednesday.
This came after a march condemning US President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital turned violent.
Protesters burned an effigy of a pig donned with Trump’s face on it and pelted Israeli security forces with stones.
Israeli soldiers responded with tear gas.
At this moment is not known how many people were injured or arrested in the violent exchanges.
Hebron, along with Bethlehem, became the center and the first point of protests against Trump’s announcement that the US Embassy will move from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
