BETHLEHEM – Palestine – Israeli security forces arrested head of the Popular Struggle Coordination Committee, Munther Amira, on Wednesday, at the northern entrance to Bethlehem.
The arrest was made during a solidarity march for arrested teenager Ahed Tamimi and her mother Nariman.
Soldiers fired tear gas at protesters, who flung rocks, as the demonstration turned violent.
Ahed Tamimi and her mother have had their detention period extended as police continue to investigate. Protesters also demonstrated Trump’s decision to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
